As parents we recognise you as your child’s first and foremost educator, and with this in mind we aim to work in partnership with all of our parents and carers as we understand this will have a positive impact on your child’s learning and development.
Parents involvement through:

- Parent and children nursery activities
- Parent and children outdoors activities
- Parent and keyworker term meeting
The nursery operates a key-person system whereby each child is allocated a particular staff member as the main carer throughout the day, because we are a small friendly nursery your child will be familiar with all of the staff members in a matter of days, as will you as parents and carers. This is one area we pride ourselves in, as the majority of staff have been working at the nursery for a number of years and all have the relevant qualifications and most importantly experience.
Prior to your child starting at Kinder you will be invited for some settling in sessions during which parent/carers will be given an “All about Me” booklet to complete, which in turn will help the staff learn more about each new child during the all-important settling period.
Once your child is ready and settled to attend nursery your child will be appointed a Key-Person which you will be your main contact here at nursery. They will take a special interest in your child’s care and development with you. They will monitor and observe your child, recording their progress in their Learning Journey File. This will be available at all times for you to view and we welcome comments and suggestions from you, including any important milestones they might reach at home.
Other information is continually relayed to parents, via daily sheets, website, emails, newsletters, parent’s app, parent’s evenings and our notice board in reception.
